Our Methodology
Created by practitioners for practitioners.
The SPEC Training System came from the pursuit of outstanding and long-lasting results for our clients. We noticed principles stand the test of time, not techniques. So we gathered all the formulas, principles and guidelines we use and formulated our Training System.
Core Principles
Here are some of our Training System's core principles.
Core Principle
We tend to glorify exercises and miss the most important aspect of our job. Why would this training intervention lead to the desired result? So, from our first lessons, we strive to understand why the human body functions the way it does. Why are the muscles named in their fashion and why are bones shaped the way they are?
If we understand the why then we never forget.
Core Principle
We are all complex beings with many needs.
Collaboration is necessary to adequately support our clients. It is not a question of when our clients will get injured or in need of a specialist's help, but when.
So, we strive to build a network of doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and other allied health professionals.
To do so, we must learn to communicate and act with accountability
Core Principle
It is not a sales tool.
We advocate against the practice of free Assessments. They diminish the value of our profession, and turn the fitness professional into a con artist who is more preoccupied with how to sell rather than how to serve.
The assessment and screening process is for the client.
We must be known for being trustworthy and reliable, and that can only start with honesty and a fair value transaction.
Core Principle
Learning how to do so is part of every program we teach.
Integrity is often innate. We either have it or we do not. However, how to act with accountability is learned because our work practices make it possible, and they can not be random.
All our learners follow a planning format and learn to document their work from the first module.
We, in turn, have developed systems, protocols, and formulas that ease the documentation process and make the job of a Health and Fitness Professional enjoyable, rewarding, and profitable.
Work Principles
Each principle and formula has been curated and tested over the past decade.
Foundation Principle
You can not do without it.
To know Anatomy is to dentify and describe structures of the human body.
If you know Anatomy you can figure out Kinesiology, the science of human movement.
Understand basic Newtonian physics, couple it with Kinesiology to figure out Biomechanics.
Coaching Principle
Build as much value as possible in each minute of the session.
Use the 5 steps coaching model.
It is often better to repeat a concise message than to explain it differently.
Movement Principle
Neuroscience goes hand in hand with Exercise science.
Engrams are movement programs.
Through training, we choose the most efficient engram to produce a task and through repetition, we ensure it becomes the dominant Engram during ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).

The Integrated Functional Fitness Framework is very different from other methodologies. It is the first accredited framework in our industry that teaches how to assess human movement comprehensively, integrate foundational movement training, and understand human movement systems and their role in movement while building a network with physicians and other health professionals.
Previously certified coaches have attended the Functional Fitness Trainer Course and found a massive difference in their acquired material and skill sets.
This led to better results for their clients, they have also improved their health and performance and built a stronger more profitable practice.
If you opt to take the exam after you complete the guided study period, than 4 months is the estimated completion timeframe for the Functional Fitness Trainer (EQF L3) course and the Personal Fitness Coach (EQF L4) takes 5 months to complete.
To attend the Personal Fitness Coach (EQF L4) you must complete the EQF L3 course first.
Once you start any of the courses, you will have up to one year from the start date to complete your examination.
You have as many opportunities as you would like to hold the exam for one year from the start of the course.
The fees of the first examination is included in the course fees and any additional attempt is paid separately. Please contact the admin team for the examination fees relevant to your course.
Once you pass you will receive a certificate of completion. We do not issue certificates of attendance to this course.
When you pass the exam, you will receive an email with your ereps.eu username and password.
On this account, you will find your certificate and you are now listed on EREPS as an exercise professional.
The Europe Active accreditation is recognized in most countries on Earth because it sets the industry standards through the European Qualification Framework (EQF).
